A nonprofit organization that honors nurses upon their passing with a nursing tribute at their funeral or memorial services. We also perform living tributes for nurses placed in hospice care, attend graduation/pinning ceremonies for new graduate nurses, participate community outreach programs, and so much more.
Tributes can vary depending on the setting and wishes of the next of kin. Most tributes consist of the honor guard standing by the chapel entrance, casket/urn, and guestbook as guests enter for the funeral services. There is an individualized speech highlighting their career as a nurse and the impact they've made, followed by a reading of the Nightingale Poem, and a final page before being released from their earthly nursing duties. The next of kin is then presented with a Nightingale lamp and white roses, both of which are important symbols to the nursing profession.
